I am a UK-based playwright, writing instructor, and mother of two. I began
writing stories and poems in my teens (the children I babysat were my beta audience), and I began making up rhymes for my own duo while they were still in utero. I launched Mums Write! to share what I have learned along the way. Read more.
Work With Me
I couldn’t have done it without you, Jo, It’s as simple as that. All the characters were always there. But I needed the one on one nurturing to get to the nub of the story that would make the readers feel the joy of the farm. You asked me the questions to get to the nub of it. A few weeks in, through our meetings, there was a moment I realised I was actually writing about myself — not just about Ollie the alpaca — and it became a real story.

Thanks so much for the workshop at Kemsing Library today. You could just feel the enthusiasm, and I can’t believe the quality of the work that was read out! I have certainly been inspired to look at reworking some more traditional tales.I’ve gotten heaps out of it. Thank you.

Thanks for giving such a stimulating start to Vivienne Taylor Gee’s (my wife of 50 years this year!) writing course last night! Keep up your great work.
